All indicators are updated till March 31, 2024

The maternal, new born and child health (MNCH) is incumbent on continuum of care (CoC) that entails antenatal care (ANC), institutional delivery, post-natal care and full immunization of the child. However, uneven access to affordable, high-quality health care and services and low utilization of ANC services in the first stage are impediments in improving maternal and new born survival and reducing stillbirths in the country.

Improving MNCH is integral to the national health goals under the National Health Mission (NHM). In the past years, innovative strategies evolved under the national programme to deliver evidence-based interventions to various population groups.

SAMVEG is a four-year project led by IPE Global and other partners include World Health Partners, John Snow India Private Limited and DIMAGI Inc. World Health Partners (WHP) as one of the consortium partners is providing on-ground support at the state and district level for effective health system strengthening, private sector engagement and community engagement.

The objective of SAMVEG is to ‘accelerate efforts to reduce maternal, neonatal, and infant mortality primarily in 3 states and 25 Aspirational Districts (Jharkhand - 19, Uttarakhand - 2, Punjab – 2 and 1 district each in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh) through several catalytic and innovative interventions. The project will work closely with governments in Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttarakhand and district level health officers.

World Health Partners has been providing supportive supervision under SAMVEG project since January 2022 under which district assessment, facility assessment, Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) assessment and community assessment is being undertaken. A total of 1,280 assessments (105 district assessments, 411 facility assessments, 385 HWC assessments, and 379 Community assessments) and 40 follow-up visits were conducted from January 2022 to March 2024. Findings and gaps are continuously shared with the Government district officials.
